British Airways and Malaga City make plans for a joint future

(TDN): British Airways online and direct sales manager, Keith Chuter, and Francisco De La Torre, the Mayor of Malaga Town Hall, put pen to paper this month, signing a letter of intent, making official their plans to further promote Malaga City in the British market. The letter lays the foundations of a two year agreement that will see British Airways use its online channels, to highlight the many flights available to Malaga from the UK, and further increase tourism to the city.

The agreement, set to begin in early 2010, will incorporate a two phase marketing, media and advertising campaign. Phase one will see British Airways expand its online (more…)

80% of the Romanian tourists spent their holiday inbound in 2009

(TDN): According to a survey carried out by Insomar during summer season, the number of Romanian tourists going on holidays this year increased by 5% compared to 2008. The study was performed on a sample of 2,500 individuals. Approximately 40% of the tourists spending their holiday in Romania stated that they made the choice attracted by convenient tariffs in the resorts, while 11% of the interviewed persons counted on the quality of services.

Most tourists traveling abroad chose Italy - 4%, Spain - 3%, Greece and Hungary -2%. The main argument (more…)

Greece confirmed as official partner destination for MITT

Jet Airways’ traffic continues on a strong growth trajectory

(TDN): Jet Airways, India’s premier airline, reported a 33 % increase in its domestic passenger traffic for the month of November 2009, as compared to the same period last year. The airlines’ international passenger traffic has also registered a growth of 19% on a seat factor of 81.9% in November 2009.

JetLite the wholly owned subsidiary of Jet Airways India Ltd has also done remarkably well in increasing its passenger traffic by 22% (more…)
